Phoenix takes series 3-1 with Game 4 OT win

After losing two in a row on Saturday night, the Snipers were on the brink of elimination before they began play on Sunday in Game 3 of the best-of-five Western Conference Final.

Southside cut the series deficit in half with a 1-0 overtime victory in Game 3. PJ Tallo was the hero, scoring the game-winner at 3:42 of the extra period.

A dramatic, back-and-forth Game 4 ended less than ten seconds into overtime when Phoenix superstar Josh Laricchia scored to give the Dragons a 6-5 series-clinching win.

Snipers fall into 2-0 hole with Saturday night dud; Gateway champs must win three straight today

The Snipers turned in a disappointing performance Saturday night in Games 1 and 2 of the PIHA Western Conference Final at the Silver Creek Sportsplex in San Jose, losing 4-2 and 10-3 to the Phoenix Dragons.

Southside is now at the brink of elimination, and must win three in a row today to take the best-of-five series.

Snipers vs. Dragons, West final, Games 1-2 tonight

After coming back to take down CJ Yoder and the Colorado Springs Thunder, the Southside Snipers will confront the Phoenix Dragons in the Western Conference Final starting tonight in San Jose.

Comeback series victory earns a spot in conference finals
The Southside Snipers will play for the PIHA Western Conference championship starting this evening in San Jose. The Snipers defeated the Colorado Springs Thunder two games to one in the conference semifinal. After dropping the series opener 6-3, Southside won games two and three. Back-to-back shorthanded goals by PJ Tallo and Zack Reis seemed to be the turning point of Game 3. Reis and Tommy Bruce were spectacular in leading the Snipers to victory.
